The trouble with the "publish first and fast" nature of blogs is that you occasionally miss out on another "F" namely the facts.
So here is the "release" from Edelman/Technorati on the blogosphere. As it happens they also suggest that the idea of "top bloggers" can be misleading - it supports a "top down" and "cost per thousand" mindset. They put this much better than I did in my post here so I think I might have been a bit hasty challenging their assumptions.
Live and learn.
There are a lot of other gems in the release and now - older and wiser - I will follow up on the full report. In particular the ideas of "quantum influence" and "vertical vs horizontal media" need closer examination...
